Khan eased to the Pakistan Title!

Top seed Aamir Atlas Khan (pic) defeats the number two compatriot Farhan Mehboob in straight games in today’s (Friday) final of the PSF-CAA Pakistan International Circuit No2. The 19-year-old from Peshawar was in control from the start, beating his 21-year-old cousin 11-6, 11-6, 11-9 in 33 minutes. The triumph marks the fifth PSA Tour title of Khan’s career – all of them have been won in Pakistan.

Camilleri and Corren count titles Down Under!

The two Australians Lisa Camilleri and Mike Corren (pic) took their tour title No9 and No27, when they celebrate victories in Adelaide. The 27-year-old Camilleri overcoming New Zealander Kylie Lindsay in 5 games (11-2, 4-11, 11-6, 9-11, 14-12) and the 36-year-old Corren produced an upset over fellow Australian Matthew Karwalski, the top seed in 4 games (11-7, 11-8, 3-11, 11-6). With Corren’s 27 PSA Tour titles he is now one title ahead of compatriot David Palmer and Egypt’s Amr Shabana – both former world number ones and world champions. Corren, who won his first tournament in Hong Kong in 1996, knows that his titles cannot compete with those of players like Palmer and Shabana, but he is still proud of his achievements.

Golan celebrates 2nd title in a week!

Spaniard Borja Golan (pic) secured his second PSA World Tour squash title in six days when he upset favourite Simon Rosner after coming back from two games down after 80 minutes (8-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-5). Golan won both tournaments, first the La Ciotat International Open and now the Toulouse Open as a qualifier. “This has been the hardest two weeks since I first started playing PSA events,” admitted the former No10 of the world – the highest-ranked Spanish player of all-time – after winning the 21st Tour trophy of his career.

Toulouse: Rosner takes on Golan!

Germany’s No1 seed Simon Rosner (pic) and former No10 of the world Spanish Borja Golan will meet in the final of the Toulouse Open. Rosner made his way into the final, when he overcome Italian “enfant terrible” Davide Bianchetti after 62 minutes in three tough games (11-8, 11-9, 11-8). Comeback Golan who sits at No95 of the world for the moment, after recovering from a knee surgery, needed 17 minutes and two games more to beat Brazilian 2nd seed Rafael Alarcon (9-11, 11-3, 11-5, 8-11, 11-6).

Mehboob took Kuwait crown!

Pakistan’s Farhan Mehboob won the final of the Jena Real Estate Open in Kuwait. Mehboob ended the run of Abdullah Al Mezayen, when he beat Kuwait’s hero in 4 games (11-6, 11-9, 8-11, 11-5) after 50 minutes. The victory marks Mehboob’s first PSA Tour title after 19 month, when he won the CNS International in November 2008 in Karachi.

Annie Au enjoys Kuwait Title!

Hong Kong’s Annie Au (pic) celebrated victory against Indian beauty Dipika Pallikal in the Women’s Sheikha Sheikha Saad Al Sabah International at the Qadsia Sporting Club in Hawally, Kuwait. The 21-year-old top seed just struggled in the 3rd game, when the 18-year-old world No40 from India won by a tie-break. Left-hander Au (WR 17) regained the upper hand in the fourth to clinch after 38 minutes (11-6, 11-5, 11-13, 11-3) her 6th title of her career.

John White celebrates his 37th birthday!

Scot veteran John White celebrates his 37th birthday today. White’s career highlight was in March and April 2004 when he became world No1. White got to 32 PSA Tour finals and was able to take 13 titles. White’s biggest disappointment was the defeat in the World Open final 2002 in Antwerp, when he lost after leading Australian fellow David Palmer 2:0 and missed match balls in the 4th game. Hong Kong’s favourite Annie Au (WR 17) taking just 18 minutes to win her semi-final match against Egyptian Kanzy Emad El-Defrawy (WR 48) at the Sheikha Sheikha Saad Al Sabah International. Indian 2nd seed beauty Dipika Pallikal (pic) dropped a game. The 18-year-old world No40 from Chennai needed 36 minutes to overcome Japan’s No4 seed and world No62 Misaki Kobayashi 11-6, 13-11, 4-11, 11-5.
