It was current English world champion Nick Matthew (pic) who was the 1st player to reach the final of the North American Open in Richmond, when he overcame 4-times world champion Amr Shabana after 52 minutes 11-7, 5-11, 11-6, 11-5. Afterwards Ramy Ashour (EGY) was able to set up the dream final (world no.1 vs world no.2), when he beats Englishman James Willstrop without big trouble in 4 games (11-8, 12:10, 5-11, 11-6).
