The 1st 4 matches of the 1st day’s 1st round action of the ROWE British Grand Prix are done. All matches have been tough encounters, as we saw a 68-minutes straight games win from German Simon Rosner over Tom Richards (12-10, 11-8, 12-10). Before Adrian Grant from England had the upper hand over Fin Olli Tuominen (6-11, 11-7, 11-13, 11-2, 11-3). Even Azlan Iskandar’s (MAS) straight games victory over Egyptian Mohammed Abbas (11-4, 11-3, 12-10) did not look easy. Longest match of the 1st block has been the 83-minutes battle between Egyptian Mohd Ali Anwar Reda (pic le) against Ong Beng Hee (pic ri) of Malaysia, which saw a luckier Reda at the end (11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 7-11, 11-8).
