No more upsets in the women’s draw in Qatar!

Following some major upsets in round 2 of the Qatar Classic, the remaining seeded players progressing through to the semi finals, as Malaysian World No1 Nicol David kept on winning to retain her Qatar title by beating Egypt’s Raneem El Weleily 11-6, 11-4, 11-8. Australian 3rd seed Rachael Grinham (pic ri) stopped the run of Englishwoman Emma Beddoes (pic le), as she took a straight games victory (14-12, 11-4, 11-7), only facing problems in the 1st game. Also 4th seed Madeline Perry from Ireland continued her 3-0 wins with a 11-8, 11-5, 11-9 victory over Malaysian Low Wee Wern. The last quarter final, an all-Egyptian affair between 17-years-old Nour El Tayeb and 2 years younger Nour El Sherbini was a repeat of the World Junior Open Final as El Tayeb defeated El Sherbini again (11-8, 5-11, 11-8, 13-11).
