6th seed Tom Richards (pic) battled for 42 minutes to keep Scotland’s Alan Clyne at bay before earning his first appearance in the men’s semi-finals of the British National Squash Championships in his career. The 24-year-old, in only his 6th appearance in the championships, needed 4 tough games to beat the Scottish No1 11-5, 9-11, 11-6, 11-4, who was celebrating his 1st appearance in the quarter-finals after a shock defeat of 4th seed Adrian Grant. Richards will now face top seed and defending champion Nick Matthew, who get over a 51-minute clash with Chris Simpson, beating the 8th seed 11-8, 11-7, 11-6.
