Spurred on by his jubilant home club crowd, local hero Miguel Angel Rodriguez (pic) upset top-seeded Finn Olli Tuominen in the final of the Colombian Open to win in Bogota. Tuominen, the world No25 from Helsinki, controlled his opponent and took the opening game. After being one game down Rodriguez showed more patience, was able to level the score and finally converted his 3rd match ball to celebrate a 9-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-5 triumph after 54 minutes. The victory marked the Colombian’s 2nd Colombian Open title success since 2008, his 3rd PSA title in 2010 and his 15th PSA title in his career.
