Top 4 in Argentina semis!

It took England’s Adrian Waller 21 minutes to despatch local hope Robertino Pezzota from Argentina 11-3, 11-6, 11-4 to earn a place in the semi-finals of the Resistencia Open in Argentina. Waller bids to win his 3rd successive title in South America in 2 weeks. In a replay of May’s Cerdil Open final in Brazil and last week’s Paraguay Open climax in Asuncion – both of which he won in 5 games – 3rd seed Waller will now face top seed Jan Koukal. The Czech No1 needed 45 minutes to see off Argentinian Hernan D’Arcangelo 14-16, 11-9, 11-6, 11-9. Brazilian Rafael F Alarcon (pic) leads South American interest in the other semi-final. The No2 seed survived a lengthy 3rd tie-break game to beat Canadian Adrian Dudzicki 11-7, 11-4, 21-19 and will now face North American hope Christopher Gordon who battled for 90 minutes to overcome Welshman Peter Creed 11-13, 11-3, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7.
