The 2nd part of round 2 of the Saudi World Open showed again, that all higher ranked players get through to the quarter-finals. Englishman Peter Barker needed 56 minutes to beat Australian fellow Stewart Boswell in straight games (11-6, 11-6, 11-9). Afterwards Karim Darwish marked his demand on this year’s World Open title, when he was well in control (11-4, 11-3, 11-3) of compatriot Wael El Hindi in the all-Egyptian match. The 80 minutes all-English encounter between 6th seed James Willstrop (pic le) and 9th seed Daryl Selby (pic ri) was the longest match of tonight and the 3rd longest of the tournament so far. Willstrop overcame Selby 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, 11-7. 19-years-old Egyptian Mohamed El Shorbagy secured his quarter-final slot with a straight games victory (11-8, 11-6, 11-8) of one year elder Aamir Atlas Khan of Pakistan.
