The big upset of today’s PSA Masters quarter-final matches was produced by Hisham Ashour (pic le), the elder brother of Egypt’s world No.1 Ramy Ashour (pic ri). Hisham was on fire, when he beat French 34-year-old World Champion 2004 Thierry Lincou 11-7, 6-11, 12-10, 11-5. Ashour will meet England’s Saudi World Open runner up James Willstrop, who smashed Australian Cameron Pilley 12-10, 11-1, 11-3. New World Open Champion Nick Matthew secured his semi-final slot, by defeating English compatriot Daryl Selby in straight but tight games (11-9, 11-7, 13-11). Almost the same result got 4 times World Champion Amr Shabana in the all-Egyptian quarter against his young country fellow Mohamed El Shorbagy (11-8, 11-9, 11-9).
