After Annie Au took the women’s crown in Kuwait, the men are still fighting for the title of the Jena Real Estate Open Champion. The quarter-finals produced two upsets and kept home hopes alive while Kuwait’s Abdullah Al Mezayen (pic) had four games win (11-5, 9-11, 11-9, 11-2) over 4th seed Waqar Mehboob (PAK). Additional Kuwait hopes were destroyed by Pakistan’s Danish Atlas Khan, who beat Kuwait’s Bader Al Hussaini after a 72 minutes battle in five games (9-11, 11-7, 11-9, 5-11, 11-9). 2nd upset came from Egyptian Andrew Wagih, who had the better end (11-8, 12-10, 9-11, 4-11, 11-2) against 2nd seed Jaymie Haycocks. Top seed Pakistani Farhan Mehboob easily overcame Italian Andrea Torricini in 29 minutes 11-4, 11-6, 11-7.
