Hong Kong and former champions Great Britain will contest the final of the 7th World University Team Championships. Both celebrated straightforward wins in the semi-finals in Melbourne, Australia. Great Britain (Joel Hinds, Peter Creed and Emma Chorley) overcame the USA (Christopher Hanson, Alex Domenick and Logan Greer) with three straight game wins. In the other semi-final Hong Kong claimed a place in the final for the first time in the 14-year history of the event. Leo Au, Chiu Ho Fai and Annie Au beat Canada (Colin West, Fred Reid and Laura Gemmell) 2-1, while only Canadian Fred Reid won the dead rubber match against Chiu Ho Fai.
