Unseeded Malaysian Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan (pic) produced the biggest upset in today's 1st round of the men's KL Open when he twice came from behind to overcome local hero and twice former champion Mohd Azlan Iskandar 8-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-3, 11-2 to claim a place in the quarter-finals in Kuala Lumpur.
Hong Kong's Leo Au, a qualifier, did go on to make the last eight round after upsetting Australia's world No37 Ryan Cuskelly 11-8, 9-11, 8-11, 12-10, 11-3 in 67 minutes. Au will now face Karim Darwish, the top-seeded Egypt who defeated France's Gregoire Marche 11-2, 11-5, 11-9.
