Egypt's Omar Mosaad (pic) claimed the biggest title of his career as he overcame Englishman Adrian Grant in a 112 minutes encounter in the final of the KL Open in Kuala Lumpur. Mosaad had destroyed the last home hopes by beating Malaysian Ong Beng Hee to reach the final while Englishman Grant had produced a stunning upset against top seed and defending champion Karim Darwish.
It was the Egyptian world No13 who took a two-game and 10-8 lead in the 3rd game before the 3 places lower ranked Grant fought back to take the game 14/12 and later on forced a decider. Mosaad always was in command in the 5th and was able to close out the match 11-6, 13-11, 12-14, 6-11, 11-8.
