Malaysia’s Nicol David (pic) begins her 6th year as world No1, according to the new January Women’s World Rankings published by the Women’s International Squash Players’ Association (WISPA). The dominant force in women’s squash first topped the rankings in January 2006 – and, after dropping to second place for just four months in the year, is now celebrating her 57th month as world No1. England’s Jenny Duncalf (1706 points) continues to shadow David (3340 points) in 2nd place, ahead of fellow countrywoman Alison Waters (1480 points) at 3, Egypt’s Omneya Abdel Kawy (1292 points) in 4th place, and Australia’s Rachael Grinham (1166 points) at No5. As David has almost the double number of points as next ranked Duncalf, it will be very unlikely that there will be a change in the near future.
