At the Greenwich Open two players made the final who were not expected to be there. On the way into the final Australian 4th seed Kasey Brown overcame Manuela Manetta from Italy, 6th seed Raneem El Weleily from Egypt and 2nd seed Madeline Perry from Ireland. Her New Zealand opponent Joelle King (pic) celebrated victories over 7th seed compatriot Jaclyn Hawkes, top-seed Australian Rachael Grinham and US-youngster Amanda Sobhy to reach her 1st WISPA final in 2011. Brown leads the stats with 4-1 victories over King.
