Kuwaiti Abdullah Al Muzayen (pic) produced one of the best results of his career when he despatched Pakistan number one Farhan Mehboob in straight games in the opening round of the Jena International Championship to advance to the quarter-finals in Kuwait. Qualifier Al Muzayen, ranked outside the world top 100, took just 34 minutes to see off fellow left-hander Mehboob, the world No28 from Peshawar, 11-9, 11-9, 11-2. The toughest battle of the day saw 4th seed Omar Abdel Aziz take his anticipated place in the quarter-finals, when the world No43 from Egypt had to fight back from 2 games down before beating Malaysian qualifier Ivan Yuen 9-11, 1-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 in 124 minutes.
