England’s Nick Matthew and James Willstrop (pic) secured an all-English final for Commonwealth gold. In the semis Matthew beats his compatriot Peter Barker in straight games (11-9, 11-2, 11-9) and took revenge on the Barker’ defeat in Australia in August. In the 2nd semi-final James Willstrop had too much in the tank for Malaysia’s Azlan Iskandar, who looked to be suffering from the effects of his marathon victory over Daryl Selby at the quarters. With the 11-4, 11-7, 11-5 victory Willstrop took the final spot to get the chance to beat Matthew on his 13th occasion. All 12 matches before Matthew left the court as the winner.
