37-year-old former World No1 and World Champion Peter Nicol (pic) presented himself in excellent form as he took on 13-years younger actual World No29 Tom Richards. In a match of the English Premier Squash League, between St George’s Hill and Surrey Health & Racquets, Richards recovered from a game down to open up a 2/1 lead over his experienced opponent. But Nicol refused to bow down – taking the 4th game and saving three match-balls from 7-10 down in the decider to win 11-8, 3-11, 5-11, 11-9, 13-11 in 64 minutes. But Nicol’s victory did not help his Surrey club to avoid the 3-2 defeat against St George’s Hill.
