Ramy Ashour (pic front) claimed his 2nd Kuwait Open title after his victory in 2007. He beat reigning world champion Amr Shabana (pic back) in four games (9-11, 11-4, 13-11, 11-1). With this win Ashour took revenge on his defeat of the Kuwait world open final last year. This time Shabana took a tight 1st game and Ashour levelled with an easy 2nd game. The third was a brutal encounter as Shabana came back from 8-10 down into the tiebreak, which Ashour clinched 13-11. After this Shabana’s resistance was broken and Ashour eased through the 4th in less than 3 minutes. After taking the Hong Kong Open and the ROWE British Grand Prix titles, it’s Ashours 3rd Super Series Victory this year.
