The final of the Saudi World Open 2010 was gone into the history books even before it started. Never ever in squash history have been two Englishmen in a World Open final and the winner would be the first English World Champion. Willstrop started impressively and took the 1st game 11-8. Willstrop leads the 2nd game 3-2 as the match started to turn. Matthew gets on top of his English rival and started to control the match until the end. After 74 minutes the new World Open Champion was crowned: Nick Matthew. His coach David Pearson was almost fallen into tears, when Matthew raised his arms.
