Top seed Rachael Grinham (pic) triumphed in the final of the Texas Open to win the WISPA World Tour Silver 30 event in Dallas for the 2nd time since 2004. Grinham beat 2nd seed Kasey Brown in the first all-Australian final in the event’s ten-year history. Both finalists had prevailed in five-game semi-finals – and in both cases had to recover from two-game deficits. But it was Grinham, the former world No1 and world champion from Queensland, who came out stronger in the climax. The 34-year-old world No4 maintained her career unbeaten run against Brown, beating the world No6 11-5, 10-12, 12-10, 11-7. The win marks Grinham’s first WISPA Tour title of the year – but the 31st of her career.
