It was David Palmer’s (pic ri) last PSA tournament, as he lost to 3rd seed Karim Darwish (EGY) in straight games 11-9, 11-7, 11-1. Palmer said afterwards: I’m a little too old and slow to compete with these guys on this type of court these days. My aim this week really was to make the glass court, so I’m glad I’ve done that but Karim was just too good today,” said the Australian 2-time world champion and 4-time British Open champion.
Darwish will meet titleholder Nick Matthew in the semi-final, as the World No1 beat compatriot Peter Barker in an all-English quarter-final 6-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-5 after dropping the 1st game.
