Richards rocks Selby in Canberra!

England’s Tom Richards (pic) caused the biggest upset in the men’s Australian Open when he outlasted fellow countryman Daryl Selby, the 9th seed, in five games in the 2nd day of 1st round in Canberra. There were no worries for France’s former world no.1 Greg Gaultier, who demolished Muhd Asyraf Azan of Malaysia 11-7, 11-2, 11-2, or 4th seeded Egyptian Karim Darwish, an 11-9, 11-4, 11-7 winner over New Zealand’s Campbell Grayson. Frenchman Thierry Lincou ended the hopes of local hero Stewart Boswell when he beat the defending champion in four games 7-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-5. The 2nd seeded Ashour reached the 2nd round with a brilliant display of attacking squash against fellow Egyptian Omar Abdel Aziz. (11-4, 11-5, 11-8).
