His opponent will be world No.1 Ramy Ashour of Egypt, who had veteran Thierry Lincou in complete control, when he beat the Frenchman in straight games (11-4, 11-7, 11-4). Amr Shabana and Greg Gaultier will meet in the 2nd semi-final, after both eased through the quarters. Gaultier needed just 35 minutes to sweep English Daryl Selby of the court (11-6, 11-2, 11-1). Egyptian Shabana needed 11 minutes more to overcome Peter Barker (ENG) in the match of the two lefthanders.
