Willstrop downed Darwish to reach Kuwait semis!

England’s James Willstrop (pic front), No.6 seed in the Kuwait Open, had to fight 85 minutes to beat the Egyptian No.4 seed Karim Darwish to reach the semi-finals after 2004 for the 2nd time. His opponent will be world No.1 Ramy Ashour of Egypt, who had veteran Thierry Lincou in complete control, when he beat the Frenchman in straight games (11-4, 11-7, 11-4). Amr Shabana and Greg Gaultier will meet in the 2nd semi-final, after both eased through the quarters. Gaultier needed just 35 minutes to sweep English Daryl Selby of the court (11-6, 11-2, 11-1). Egyptian Shabana needed 11 minutes more to overcome Peter Barker (ENG) in the match of the two lefthanders.
