Top seed Nicol David (pic le) confidently reached the women’s CIMB KL Open final for the eighth year in a row after beating English rival Alison Waters (pic ri) in straight games (11-4, 12-10, 11-5 ) in the semi-finals in Kuala Lumpur. It was the end of the road for Hong Kong’s unseeded Annie Au in the other women’s semi-final. But Ireland’s Madeline Perry, the 7th seed from Belfast, was determined to make her maiden KL final, and beat Au 11-4, 5-11, 11-8, 12-10 in 62 minutes. The prediction for the final is very simple: David is leading 15:1 against Perry.
