Momen took out no. 1 contender Shorbagy!

The Egyptian Tarek Momen (pic) was the star of the semi-finals at the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur, when he came back from 1-2 games down to beat top-seed compatriot Mohamed El Shorbagy on extra points in the final game. In tomorrow’s final Momen will meet Malaysian Azlan Iskandar who kept control over Pakistan’s qualifier Farhan Mehboob. Nicol David kept Malaysian double victory hopes alive, when she beat England’s Alison Waters in four very tough games. David’s contender in the women’s final will be 2nd seed English girl Jenny Duncalf. The English top-seed ends the run of Egyptian qualifier Raneem El Weleily, when Duncalf won in four games.
