All 4 Egyptian contenders took the chance to reach the semi-finals in the Men’s World Junior Individual Championship in Herentals (Belgium). Titleholder and top-seed Amr Khaled Khalifa needed 51 minutes to overcome Indian Ramit Tandon in straight games 11-7, 11-7, 17-15 to take his anticipated semi-final spot. 2nd seed and last year’s bronze medalist Marwan El Shorbagy (pic) had to fight for more than an hour to down Indian Mahesh Mangaonkar in 4 games 11-7, 9-11, 13-11, 11-8. Mohamed Abouelghar and Mazen Hesham Ga Sabry completed the all-Egyptian semis as they beat their 2 English opponents James Earles (11-8, 11-9, 11-7 )and Declan James (8-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-6).
