Seeds save through in Manchester!

The last 4 matches of the 1st round of the ROWE British Grand Prix have been quite fast. Except Karim Darwish (EGY, pic ri) who needed 67 minutes an 4 games (9-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-8) to overcome Australian Stewart Boswell (pic le) after recovering from 1 game down. Frenchman Greg Gaultier was in excellent form, when he beats India’s Saurav Ghosal in straight games (11-4, 11-5, 11-2) after 47 minutes of play.

Australian fellow Cameron Pilley was able to undercut Gaultier’s time by 5 minutes, as he eased through (11-6, 11-6, 11-5) against Aamir Atlas Khan from Pakistan. Titleholder Ramy Ashour from Egypt was in superb shape as he did not mess around very long with England’s Chris Ryder, who did not much wrong – Ashour was just to good. After minutes Ashour had the straight games victory under his belt.
