Former runner-up Stewart Boswell (pic ri) was denied a place in the 2nd round of the 2011 US Open when Egypt’s Mohamed El Shorbagy (pic, le) recovered from two games down to beat the Australian (8-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-4 ) on the opening day of 1st round action in Philadelphia. The 20-year-old now faces Englishman Tom Richards, a 7-11, 11-3, 11-9, 13-11 winner over Egyptian qualifier Tarek Momen.
