It was the 3rd match of the 2nd Canary Wharf Classic evening, between World No1 James Willstrop (le) and his opponent Saurav Ghosal (ri), which turned to the best match of the tournament so far, as Willstrop’s Indian training fellow took the Englishman into the decider.
It was Willstrops experience and accuracy which secured him the 11-7, 7-11, 11-4, 10-12, 11-5 victory after 84 minutes of play. Further 1st round (bottom half):
